Friday April 21, Mike ran with the senior slingshots. In Mikes heat he started 4th, on the start Mike made a good move and was up to third. But to his disadvantage there was a caution. On the restart he was pushed up into the lose stuff and lost alot of ground. He made his way back up to finish a strong 5th place finish.

 

For the feature Mike rolled off the grid in the 9th position. On the start he lost a few positions, but that was the least of his problems. There was a wreck in turns 3&4 and due to the dust Mike couldn't see it and when he did he slammed on the brakes and spun to avoid it. "It was so dusty going down the back stretch I couldn't see going into the turn" Mike said. There was no damage to the car but he had to car but he had to restart to the rear of 18 cars. When the race restarted the cars in front of mike brake checked and mike got the worst of it resulting in getting spun around on the back stretch. Once again Mike had to restart in the rear of the field. That next restart Mike was fired up and was heading to the front, the car ran well the whole rest of the night and Mike came home with an 8th place finish.
